Privacy
Your information, kept simple.
DaniVanLife is a small, owner-run camper van hire based in Hull, United Kingdom. This page explains what personal information is collected when you contact us about a hire, what it is used for, and the rights you have under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who is the data controller
The data controller is DANIELAIMTERNATIONAL LIMITED, trading as DaniVanLife, based at 18 Ena St, Hull HU3 2TG, United Kingdom. Contact: danielaali94@yahoo.com.
What is collected
Only what you choose to share when you make contact. Typically that is your name, a phone number or email address, your intended travel dates, and any details you volunteer about the trip. If a hire goes ahead, a copy of the named driver's driving licence and proof of address are taken before pickup, as required by the insurer.
How it is used
Personal information is used to reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote, arrange the hire, place insurance cover for the named driver, and meet legal and tax record-keeping obligations. It is not used for marketing or shared with third parties for advertising.
Legal basis
Replying to enquiries and arranging a hire is processed on the basis of taking steps at your request to enter into a contract. Records kept after a hire (invoices, mileage, condition notes) are retained on the basis of legal obligation under HMRC rules and legitimate interest in resolving any dispute that may arise.
Who else sees it
The insurer underwriting cover for the hire is given the named driver's details, as required to issue the policy. If a roadside or breakdown service is needed during the hire, the breakdown provider is given enough information to identify the vehicle and the driver. WhatsApp messages are routed through Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd; emails are routed through the relevant email provider. Each has its own privacy policy that applies when you use those services.
How long it is kept
Enquiries that do not result in a hire are deleted within twelve months. Hire records (booking confirmation, copy of licence, condition notes, invoice) are retained for six years after the end of the relevant tax year, as required for HMRC. Insurance and accident records are retained for as long as the insurer requires.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information held about you, to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, to object to its use, and to ask for it to be transferred. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. To exercise any of these rights, write to danielaali94@yahoo.com.
Cookies and tracking
The website does not set tracking cookies, run analytics, or load third-party advertising scripts. The full statement is on the cookies page.
